QTEDT has qualified for the Themed Media & Theme Design Competition (TMTDC) every year since 2024, and this year we placed first in the qualifying round.

Odyssey of Oz

A journey to the Emerald City. Guests ride a carriage through Munchkin Land, Gillikin Country, and Winkie Land before arriving at the gates of Oz.

Creative: Hand-drawn Emerald City façade, character costumes, and the full ride layout.
Engineering: CAD carriage vehicle, structural validation, an RFID-based ride timing system, and a virtual ride-through.
Business & Finance: Revenue model and ROI case, with a 2.8 to 7.4 year payback.

Qualified

Twister: Storm Chaser

A storm-chasing thrill ride. Guests climb into a chase truck and drive through a tornado, past a wrecked barn, and out through a flash flood.

Creative: Scene sketches, storm artwork, and the chase-truck ride vehicle.
Engineering: CAD model of the ride vehicle and track.
Business & Finance: A full cost breakdown, at around $12M CAD.
Accessibility: Zero-step boarding, wheelchair storage, adjustable restraints, a strobe opt-out, and vibrating wristbands for Deaf and hard-of-hearing guests.
