Small-scale launch coaster
A physical, space-themed scale model of a launch coaster, built by four teams working together and presented at the showcase in March.
- Electrical
The launch motor and its speed control, braking and emergency shutoff, and Arduino-based sensors that automate the launch and braking sequences.
- Cart & Rail
A cart, wheel carrier, and rail that work together, with braking and restraints designed for comfort and safety.
- Structural Support
Stable supports for the whole model: loads, frames, bracing, and attachments, all modelled in CAD.
- Creative
The theming that makes it a ride: a space-themed story, façade, queue, signage, and sightlines.
